Welcome back to all our returning Prairie Ridge families!!! A special welcome goes out to all the
new families, Kindergarten and new community members who are joining the Prairie Ridge clan
this year! I hope everyone’s Summer was exciting, fun and a little bit relaxing! The amazing staff
and faculty have already begun their work to ensure our children have a wonderful, safe and
productive year, and we are so lucky to have such dedicated individuals putting their time into
nurturing and teaching our little learners!
I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to serve as the Prairie Ridge Parent Teacher
Organization (PTO) President for the 2014-2015 school year. My name is Zoa Schescke and I have
volunteered with the PTO over the last year. My partner and I have two students attending Prairie
Ridge this year, one in Kindergarten and one in 5th
Denver Human Services and I hope to use some of my fundraising, program development and grant
writing skills in my term as PTO President.
The PTO works as a team to organize activities that will benefit and support our children and
teachers throughout the school year. We hope to create fun and enriching events for students and
families, and raise the funds needed to support these events. This year the plans include hosting the
Avid4Adventure Program, a Jog-A-Thon fundraiser, special presentations for the students, field trip
support, another Holiday Shop and much more!
Research indicates that the most successful schools not only have dedicated teachers and staff,
but also have parents who are dedicated and committed to ensuring their students receive the
best education possible. We truly hope you will find the time to participate in the PTO events
and meetings, as well as within your student’s classrooms. I know that we will all benefit from
your willingness to share your strengths with the Prairie Ridge community. The PTO will meet
each trimester to plan events, discuss PTO matters and share ideas. Your ideas are welcomed and
appreciated, so please join us! We also plan to continue our volunteer appreciation program this
year, so for every hour you spend sharing your talents with the PTO, Staff or a Teacher; you will
receive one raffle entry for some wonderful prizes! Each trimester we will draw a name from the
raffle entries, so the more you volunteer, the more entries you will have!
Thank you for helping us to create a positive and inspiring year of learning for our students, we
know that we could not succeed without the help of each and every one of you. We are eager to hear
your ideas, and are excited to work with all of you to ensure a successful and productive year for all
of our students. You can find our contact and social media information below.
